How Mount Digital Cut Reporting From 80% to 20% of the Team’s Week

Mount Digital replaced manual reporting and capped connector plans with their own BigQuery data warehouse through Weavely, so the team now spends most of its time on strategy instead of building reports.

Meet Jordan Wilson

Jordan is the founder and Managing Director of Mount Digital, a Manchester-based digital marketing agency working across paid social, PPC, SEO and HubSpot for UK organisations in professional services, property and technology. He started the agency in 2016 after seeing first-hand how disconnected data and siloed teams held back growth.

“

Reporting and building decks used to be maybe 80% of people’s time and 20% was on the optimisation, which is completely the wrong way around.

What changed

Before Weavely, Mount Digital pulled data by hand from Google Ads, Facebook, TikTok, Reddit and Search Console, or from Looker Studio reports that only around half the team used. Weekly, monthly and quarterly decks all looked slightly different, and their Funnel plan kept hitting its limits on platforms like Microsoft and TikTok.

They tried Funnel into Google Sheets, but Sheets stopped at 1 million cells, and NotebookLM didn’t really work either. What they needed was a data warehouse of their own. A short trial with a couple of ad accounts showed Weavely was exactly that.

Pricing of £10 per source meant they could connect every channel and ad account without jumping to a new tier. With everything in BigQuery, the team asks Claude questions of their data directly, with no SQL needed, and builds decks and documents from numbers that are always on point.

Practical impact

Reporting used to take around 80% of the team’s time, leaving 20% for optimisation. Jordan says they have now got it to at least the opposite, so strategists spend their time working out how to make the numbers go up rather than generating reports.

For their largest client, which runs lots of campaigns at once, every account is checked by 9am. The team gets a summary of which campaigns are within their KPIs and which two need action, which Jordan calls huge from a mental load point of view.

When they need data that Weavely doesn’t bring in yet, they ask and the Weavely team goes and gets it. Jordan describes the relationship as a trusted partner and an extension of the team.

Being able to take something so scary and complex and have it as something that is just seamless for us is just incredible.
